UMT Consultancy Services Sdn. Bhd. (UMTCS) was established in the year 2020 as the consultancy and training arm of UMT Holdings (UMTH). It is 100% owned by Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT).
UMTCS main function as an investment holding company involves in various business activities to generate revenue from business internally and externally. UMTCS manages efficiently the scholastic and professional expertise readily available within UMT as well those outside UMT.
Currently UMTCS is involved in four (4) income-generating core businesses namely Consultancy, Corporate Training, Life Long Learning and Community Related Human Capital Development Program.
Objectives of UMTCS are mobilizing on internal (UMT) expertise and resources, identify, plan, co-ordinate and monitor operations as well as business activities, facilitate the transfer of knowledge and expertise to industries and public agencies and upholding integrity and good governance as expected by stakeholders, employees, community and industry.

UMTCS provide experienced academic and professional expert in various field of studies which cover in area of environmental, hydrology, marine, maritime and sosio economic. Our commitment to give the best consultation and responsible to offer the studies that beneficial to the community and nation.
UMTCS had conduct various consultation work to various government department and also industries. We had registered with Jabatan Laut Malaysia as Marine Risk Assessment (MRA) consultant and also service provider for World Wide Fund For Nature Malaysia (WWF) and MIMOS Berhad. UMTCS committed to improve our consultancy services and dream of to build an established consultancy services that comply with the current need.
Environmental Study & Hydrology
We have conducted studies and prepared EIA reports spanning across the industrial sectors. Therefore, our expertise and consultation services are not limited only to Malaysia, but will be expanded to other international country.
Our EIA services include consultation during the initial project design stages; preparation of Terms of References (TOR); baseline data collection (primary or secondary); communicating with regulatory authorities, stakeholders and the community; assisting with environmental approvals and permits; developing and implementing environmental management plans and management systems for the construction, operation and decommissioning stages of a project.
Marine & Maritime
UMTCS provides comprehensive consultation and research services in the marine and maritime sectors, covering Marine Risk Assessment (MRA), Geographic Information System Mapping (GIS), Marine Pollution & Geospatial (OMG), Coral Reef Ecology (CORE), Remote Sensing & Marine Informatics (RSMI), and Marine Coastal and Delta Sustainability for Southeast Asia (MARE). With these areas of expertise, UMTCS is committed to delivering innovative, science-driven solutions that support sustainable ocean resource management and the advancement of the maritime industry at both national and regional levels.
Socio Economic
In the field of social economy, UMTCS undertakes a wide range of research and consultancy initiatives focusing on corporate sustainability, social and environmental accounting, the role of non-profit and third-sector organizations, volunteerism, social enterprises, and social innovation. Our expertise includes supporting companies in designing and implementing effective corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategies, applying social accounting and sustainability practices, and strengthening the capabilities of non-profit and third-sector entities. Additionally, we provide advisory services for public policies related to social entrepreneurship and social innovation, as well as training and consultancy on developing business plans for enterprises that address key societal challenges.
